AmTiquing Trivia: Baltimore Oriole
Mecca Cigarettes; tradecard The Baltimore Oriole derives its name from the fact that its colors are those of the Arms of Lord Baltimore. It is found chiefly in North America. Their pensile nests, made of flax and vegetable matter, woven to resemble felt and firmly sewed with horse-hairs, are suspended from the boughs of garden trees and usually contain five whitish pink eggs. Their song, a clear mellow whistle, is repeated at short intervals. The ClassyArts Digital Image Collection
